After searching about an hour for our Christmas tree at Marmion Academy's Christmas Tree Farm in Aurora, we finally found "the one." It was actually the first tree we looked at and the closest tree to where we parked our truck. Go figure. We wanted one that was a little shorter and skinner than the one we had last year (so we wouldn't have to smash it through the doorway and cut the top off again). When we got it home, it was of course, larger than we expected. Squeezing it through the door wasn't that bad, we didn't have to cut off any branches. But when we put it in the spot by the fireplace, we had to trim branches. The tree was the right height, just too fat! Steve and I decorated the tree while Megan took the ornaments out of the boxes and Matthew kept removing ornaments from the tree. Even with all the "help" we got, only 1 ornament broke thanks to Matthew! Matthew decided that he didn't like one of the ornaments and threw it against the wall. Even though the tree is missing a lot of ornaments from the bottom (they are scattered throughout the house), I think our tree looks beautiful!
